Travel Safe for NYE in San Diego

Uber
Uber offers excellent coverage in the greater San Diego area. Simply use their smart phone app to connect with a driver near you. Uber is known for their very professional rideshare service with their sleek, signature black cars. This New Year’s Eve, Uber is pairing up with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and will donate $1 for every ride using the promo code “MADDNYE” between 6 PM New Year’s Eve and 6 AM New Year’s Day. Lyft offers a similar ridesharing service, and will also donate $1 to MADD for every person who pledges to travel safely on NYE.Taxis
While not quite as in vogue as Uber or Lyft, taxis also offer a safe and reliable way to travel safely to and from your New Year’s destinations. One benefit of traditional taxis is that they cannot raise their prices for holidays and other surges (unlike both Uber and Lyft).San Diego MTS
Public transportation is very reliable and inexpensive, making it a solid choice for your New Year’s travel. Worried that you’ll miss the last bus before your party is over? This year, the San Diego MTS is extending all three downtown trolley lines and two major bus routes to make sure you make it home safely. Check out their holiday schedule for specific times.Hotels
One of the safest ways to get home from the party is to not go home at all! Many San Diego hotels are hosting all-night parties with overnight accommodation packages. The Adnaz San Diego and Hard Rock Hotel are both offering parties with all-inclusive options. However you plan to ring in 2015, make sure you stay safe and responsible. Photo by Nathan Rupert / CC BY
