Internet Copy Infringement
Copyright refers to the right to copy and distribute, or sell a creative work. A way to commit criminal copyright violations is to interfere with someone else’s work for the purpose of gaining a commercial advantage. Another way is a person distributes copyrighted works worth more than $1,000. A person can be convicted of copyright piracy even if there was no intent for financial gain. There are two elements to be met for copyright piracy. They are 1) The person copied or shared the work intentionally 2) The total value of the work adds up to be more than $1,000.
